ABOUT
Reuben Negron is a contemporary American visual artist best known for his representational, figurative watercolors. Drawing inspiration from his own experiences as well as those of the people he depicts, Negon’s work is characterized by it’s highly personal narratives, often exploring themes of memory, identity, psychology and sexuality. Negron’s work is anchored in the minute and real, eschewing idealism for subjects that are both underrepresented and familiar.
Negron is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD, and the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. His work has been shown internationally with notable exhibitions most recently in Paris, Germany, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. Negron’s work has also been featured by Juxtapoz, Time Out New York, VICE, PoetsArtists, and the Huffington Post.
Reuben Negron is represented by H Gallery, Paris and Blue Spiral 1, Asheville, NC.
He currently lives and works in Asheville, NC.
