Negron_LotT_Night's King_72.jpg

The final season of Game of Thrones is right around the corner and I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all plays out. In honor of the battle yet to come, here’s a small watercolor I did of the The Night’s King for Spoke Art a few years back. This piece will once again be on display as part of WINTER IS HERE, a group show devoted to all things Westerosi, opening this weekend in San Francisco.

To enquire about the availability of this piece, email the gallery at events@spoke-art.com.
The show runs April 6th - 7th in San Francisco.
You can view details about the event HERE.

Spoke Art is pleased to present Winter is Here, an art show in tribute to “Game of Thrones.” Inspired by the series that captured us all, the exhibition features an array of original paintings, sculpture, embroidery and limited edition prints from artists around the world.

Over 70 artists were invited to participate, resulting in a dazzling display of character portraits, elaborate environments and iconic themes and motifs from the series. Captivating audiences around the world for the past eight years, the series has been wildly successful and has subsequently helped to bring the fantasy genre into homes across the globe.

Lord of the Thrones at Spoke Art SF

I grew up playing Dungeons & Dragons and filling my sketchbooks with rough imitations of Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo art. I lived on a healthy diet of fantasy novels and dreamed of becoming an illustrator worthy of my idols. Life took me down a different path but recently I was able to relive my childhood aspirations when I agreed to contribute two pieces to Spoke Art's upcoming Lord of the Thrones group show.

Lord of the Thrones is an art show tribute to the legendary works of George R.R. Martin and J.R.R. Tolkien. Featuring paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints by over 60 international artists, Spoke Art has organized a "dazzling display of character portraits, elaborate environments and iconic themes and motifs from both series." My contributions (seen above) depict two iconic "bad guys" from the film and television adaptations of both series. On the left is The Night's King (Game of Thrones), the leader of the White Walkers, created by the Children of the Forest to fight the First Men. On the right is Lurtz (Lord of the Rings), the leader of the fighting Uruk-hai scouts responsible for the death of Boromir and capture of Pippin and Merry. Both watercolors are small, measuring 6"x9" (15.25x23cm) each and matted and framed in dark gray and deep brown.

Lord of the Thrones opens tonight, Thursday, June 2nd, in San Francisco. The opening reception is from 6-10pm and will remain on view through Saturday, June 25th. More information about these pieces or others from the show can be found HERE, or by contacting Spoke Art directly, HERE
