Texas Contemporary Art Fair
This week, October 20-23, Like the Spice Gallery will be participating in the Texas Contemporary Art Fair in Houston, Texas. I’ll be showing a selection of works from This House of Glass, my latest solo show at Like the Spice. Also exhibiting work will be Jenny Morgan and Jason Yarmosky. If you are in the area don’t miss this show – it’s already getting a lot of attention and promises to showcase the best in contemporary art.
Like the Spice will be exhibiting in Booth #813.

This House of Glass
My solo show, This House of Glass, opens Friday evening at Like the Spice Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Evolving out of my previous work with Dirty Dirty Love, This House of Glass is a collection of intimate portraits based on the personal narratives of the volunteer models. The eleven watercolors below comprise the bulk of the series and will be on display for the first time as a collection through October 9th.

Website Redesign
Every few years I revisit my website and give it an update. With one month to go until the opening of my solo show at Like the Spice, I’ve decided to completely overhaul my website’s content and functionality. So for the next month while the site is down, please check here for updates on my work and news about the upcoming exhibition.
In the mean time, here are a few studio shots taken over the past month…
Studio Time
With only a few short months until my next solo show at Like the Spice, I’ve been locked in the studio trying to keep pace with my workload.
Here are a few images from the past few weeks.
Tia (Part 2)
Following up on my previous post about Tia, here’s a detail of the finished painting. I should be posting the entire image soon along with some pretty cool news on how and when you can see it in person.
Devora Ran
Devora Ran is a print and online publication devoted to the exploration of “Sex Culture.” It’s mission is to give form and content to the concept of “sex” as it relates to art, fashion and other cultural media. Published out of Barcelona, Spain, this magazine collects artists, photographers, writers and social activists from around the world that approach sex as inspiration for expression and communication.
I’m honored to have my work included in the newest issue: “Orgies.” I’ve read through the online back issues and truly appreciate the candor with which they present topics that make most people blush. The article accompanying my images is written by Joan Cornelius Toset and offers some keen and refreshing insights into my work – I especially love the last paragraph that compares Dirty Dirty Love to “a walk through a park on an Autumn afternoon.” Nice.
Check out Devora Ran and all their brilliant content online by clicking the cover below. And if you happen to be in Spain, pick up a few of their print issues – you won’t be disappointed.
You can subscribe to their blog HERE or jump straight to the article featuring my work HERE.
