Morganne de toi at H Gallery, Paris

I am thrilled to announce the opening of my solo show, Morganne (Morganne de toi), at H Gallery, this Thursday, February 22nd, in Paris, France.

Morganne (Morganne de toi) is a visual narrative told in 14 parts. A departure from my previous  work, Morganne (Morganne de toi) is a self contained storyline centered on themes of memory, desire, transformation and escape. The images in this series represent singular moments connected through common threads of setting, character and costume. The narrative, while tangibly present, is purposefully left up to the viewer to arrange and rearrange, adding their own perspective with each iteration.

My website will be updated with images from the show after it's opening. In the mean time please contact H Gallery for more information or to receive a preview of the show.

Morganne (Morganne de toi) is on view at H Gallery, Paris from 22nd February - 31 March, 2018.
The opening is 22 February, from 6pm to 9pm.

Small Works + Camera Fund Art

Last year, when my camera was stolen, I reached out to friends and collectors alike for contributions to help replace my lost gear. In return for their generosity I've photographed, designed, painted and drawn 40+ individual works of art. This week I'll be sending out 14 drawings to 14 of those helpful donors. Many more are still in progress but as promised, I'm posting a selection of the art I've created for the "Camera Fund" HERE on my site. More will be added in the coming months so check back regularly for updates. And as always, you can follow their creation on Instagram by searching #camerafundart.

I'd like to extend a special "Thank You" to any of my contributors reading this now. If you have any questions concerning your pieces please feel free to send me a note.

Digital Painting - Courtny

As many of you know I've been experimenting with the iPad's capabilities as a painting medium for a few months now. This is my latest piece, once again done in Savage Interactive's Procreate with Artist Harware's Sensu Brush and Targus' 2-in-1 Executive Stylus. I worked on this portrait in my spare time over the course of a few days. Altogether I'd estimate that it took just under 4 hours to complete. During that time documented my process which, if you're interested in reading about, can be found after the jump. As always, if you have any questions just leave a comment and I'll be happy to replay as soon as I can. Enjoy.

Work In Progress

Here is a detail from Aida, the latest addition to This House of Glass. I started by laying in a monochromatic blue underpainting to define the shapes and space of the room and figure. Then I layered in transparent washes of local tone to further define the structures and light source. At this point I'm laying in reflected light and pushing the shadows further to establish the value range we'll see in the finished piece.  Check back for more soon.
