In one week's time the art fairs in Miami will be underway and I'll be celebrating the opening of Chévere at Sirona Fine Art. Chévere is a group show "inspired by the Romance Languages of Latin America... Some of the artists are from Latin America, others not. Therefore some of the artists draw on memory and experience of their own countries and peoples, and others on their encounters with cultures foreign to their own, and others still on imagination and images cobbled together from film and art and literature." Curated by Didi Melendez and Sergio Gomez, Chévere  features work by 40 national and international artists; displaying figurative, narrative, environmental, emotional, street, poetic, and historical-based works. The exhibition will be on view at Sirona Fine Art from December 3 through January 7, 2017 and be accompanied by a catalog and online exhibition.

For more information on the show please take the time to read Daniel Maidman's insightful review of the show. You can find his article here: Didi Menendez’s ‘Chévere’
